Community Is Coming to Netflix Soon

Soon you will be able to watch Community, not only by streaming it on Hulu, but also streaming it on Netflix soon. Community fans will remember the show first airing on NBC for its first couple of season, and then in its final season was moved to Yahoo! Screen for the short time it was alive.

Amazon already owns the rights to stream the show in several regions including the United Kingdom and Canada but now the show will find a stable home on Netflix. When being aired on TV the show was passed around from studio to service, but now is finally settling its head 5 years later, after concluding in 2015.

Community originally aired in 2009 and follows an ensemble cast and is set in the fictional town of Greendale, Colorado. It makes heavy use of meta-humor and pop culture references, often parodying film and television cliches and tropes.

Next month Community will be joining some other great TV series on Netflix. Deadline reported it will be available from April 1. In the United States, the show will stay on Hulu as well as Netflix. Rights for the show were close to being up for grabs until two major streaming services were able to come to a deal to share the rights. Netflix was reported to have paid more for global streaming rights

As it becomes more and more popular, this is an opportunity for fans to rediscover this comedy. Although it hasn’t had the fandom that NBC series like Brooklyn Nine-Nine or The Office has had, it has increased in popularity over the years. With the actors from the show like Donald Glover and Alison Brie branching out into different media and gathering more fans for the show.
