Legally Blonde still remains a fan favorite, even 19 years after the first one hit the cinemas. We’ve waited a long time, and finally, it looks like we are getting that new installment. Legally Blonde 3 is currently being written by none other than The Office’s Mindy Kaling and Brooklyn Nine Nine’s Dan Goor. Will Legally Blonde 3 be the funniest film in years?!

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) is working on a new script with Kaling and Goor, 2 years after it was initially announced that a third film is in the works. Elle Woods will be back in action, with Reese Witherspoon returning as the iconic character. The first film was written by Karen McCullah and Kirsten Smith. Both writers were set to write the script for the newest Legally Blonde, but it seems Kaling and Goor have now taken over the role. We aren’t complaining though – these two are amazing!

Bend and Snap!

Legally Blonde became a classic and pop culture reference, with women around the world striving to be like Elle Woods. It may be nearly 20 years since the original came out, but Legally Blonde is still adored by millions. Even after the not so successful sequel was released two years after the original. Legally Blonde follows a sorority girl following her ex-boyfriend to law school in an attempt to woo him back. Instead, she chases the dream for herself and becomes a successful lawyer.

Reese Witherspoon will not only be starring as the lead role, but she will also produce the movie alongside Marc Platt. Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor will be writing an original story. The pair will not be changing an existing script for Legally Blonde 3. Rumors circulated that they would be adjusting a script from the original writers, but this is false. Kaling and Goor have worked on some incredible projects. Kaling starred on her own comedy The Mindy Project, working on massive hits including The Office and recently successful Netflix’s Never Have I Ever. Dan Goor is the man behind huge sitcoms, including Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation. This duo could seriously shake things up, as Legally Blonde could be a hilarious film with these two behind it.
