Hulu have been requested to remove three Scrubs TV show episodes from their platform by the ABC Studios producers.

The episodes in question all feature scenes with the use of Blackface and in light of the ongoing events with the Black Lives Matter movement, the decision has been made to pull these episodes.

The news was initially announced on Bill Lawrence’s Twitter, who was the screenwriter for the show. In response to one fan’s request to remove offensive episodes of the show, he responded with “Agreed. Already in the works.”

It seems that the general response has been to remove the episodes without causing a fuss. It will be interesting to see what other shows feel the responsibility to do the same.

The Scrubs TV show episodes being removed are Season 3’s “My Friend the Doctor” along with Season 5 episodes “My Jiggly Ball” and “My Chopped Liver”.

Scrubs ran for nine years, from 2001 to 2010 and is still a popular show to this day. Season 2 of the shower pulled in a massive 15 million viewers however by the final season viewing figures were around 3.8 million.
