The Emmy nominations have recently been announced. And amazing news people. Our favorite captain, Mr. Holt himself has been nominated for this year’s Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series! Everyone keep your fingers crossed for Andre Braugher bagging the award in the 2020 ceremony!
The hugely popular police show has been included in this year’s awards, with Braugher going against Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy and The Good Place’s Wiliam Jackson Harper. The actor tweeted his excitement and honor of being nominated, posting “I’m thankful to represent #Brooklyn99, thank you to the @TelevisionAcad for the nomination”. Braugher has played the character of Captain Holt for quite some years. The actor has been nominated for the comedy supporting role award 3 times previously. Could 2020 be his year?
The B99 team sent their love!
It didn’t take long for his coworkers and the cast of B99 to celebrate with the actor. Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz, the ladies who play Amy and Rosa, took to Twitter to tweet Andre’s name in capital letters! It seems the actresses were super chuffed to see their cast member nominated.
Hitchcock star Dirk Blocker tweeted “One of the many pleasures & great fortune of working on @nbcbrooklyn99 has been the opportunity of sharing time with the great Andre Braugher. Congratulations to him on yet another Emmy nomination. So well deserved!” We couldn’t agree more!
Let’s hope the actor wins!
Both Terry Crews and Joel McKinnon Miller also announced their congratulations on the social media app Twitter, with Terry tweeting “WELL DESERVED!!!! Congrats”. This is big news for the actor. Especially as Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been snubbed in past years at the Primetime Emmy’s. This also comes as Andy Samberg announced that Season 8 episodes had been scrapped due to the recent Black Lives Matter Movement. Current events has caused the comedy series to rethink their approach in the future. Congratulations to Andre Braugher – big things are coming to the show!
