The much anticipated Netflix Original finally has a teaser trailer for us to get very excited about! Enola Holmes is a movie many of us have been wanting this year. And while we don’t have to wait much longer, not much information has been given! But alas, Netflix has teased us with a mini-trailer to give us a taste of what’s to come!
Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Sam Claflin are just a few familiar faces that star in the new movie. Brown plays the teenage sister of the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes (played by Henry Cavill), while Claflin plays other brother Mycroft. Helena Bonham Carter also stars in the film adaption written by Nancy Springer. It looks so good!
While the teaser trailer has us very excited for the movie, we did recently report that the streaming service hit a spot of bother over the film. The author of the book Springer was at the center of a lawsuit as the original story was tampered with. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the original author, never included a character named Enola. This meant his estate sued Netflix along with Nancy Springer as it went ‘beyond the franchise’s public domain conditions. While it seems there is still a dispute ongoing, the film is still hitting the platform. Phew!
It’s bizarre seeing Millie Bobby Brown playing a part that doesn’t include some sort of extraterrestrial beast! The new movie looks tons of fun, and hopefully will be worth the legal battle Netflix has had on their hands. It’s nice to see Cavill and Brown together as both of their projects have been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Stranger Things and The Witcher has seen production shut down for months, with hops for normality to return very soon!
Enola Holmes hits Netflix in September, so add it to your calendars!
