It was revived three times but lead actor Tom Ellis has confirmed himself that there will be no Lucifer Season 6.

Ellis recently told The Guardian about his take on the rocky journey Lucifer had during its six seasons. In 2018, it was announced that the show had been cancelled after three seasons by Fox, “I’d just come off stage doing my Q&A with the audience,” Ellis recalled.

Enough of a fight a huge fan support meant that the show was snatched up by Netflix for a two season deal… Simple? well not exactly. Season four saw a surge in popularity down to the sheer dominance of Netflix as a global streaming service.

Ellis then went on to explain how Netflix offered a sixth season just as the writers of Lucifer were figuring out how to wrap it up. It seems as though Lucifer Season 6 is definitely the last as Ellis insisted that “This is definitely going to be the final season”. We’ve heard that before though right?

There’s no confirmation on where Ellis is set to venture next, however later in the interview he mentioned “The big one for me is theatre.”. So the next time we see Ellis may be on stage, after all that is where his career started before rising to fame on the UK comedy series Miranda.
