Imagine Stranger Things without Eleven. Well, that could have been a reality. Millie Bobby Brown has recently been speaking about her fame at just 16 years old. While promoting Netflix’s Enola Holmes, she has also spoken about becoming an actress at such a young age. And while she has already made such a huge impact in the entertainment industry, Millie Bobby Brown nearly quit acting after losing this role…
HBO’s Game of Thrones could have been the reason Millie Bobby Brown quit acting, as they rejected her for a role in the show. The young star attempted to make her mark on the series, but sadly didn’t get the role. Because of this, the actress became disheartened. We thank God she carried on!
GOT could have ruined everything!
The young star revealed on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that Game of Thrones was meant to be Brown’s big break, but it didn’t work out that way. “I think I was just very disheartened by the rejection, which is something I tell everyone. Like, this industry is just full of rejection, 24/7. You get far more nos – a lot of nos – before you get a yes. I was auditioning for commercials, for anything, really. I then auditioned for Game of Thrones and I got a ‘no’ for that. Then that’s kind of when I was like, ‘Oh, this is really difficult,’ because I guess I really wanted that role”.
Thankfully for Millie Bobby Brown, it wasn’t long before she landed on her feet, changing her mind about quitting the acting world. The actress auditioned for Netflix’s Montauk (now known as Stranger Things), as she describes it as kickstarting her acting career. “Two months later, they just got back to us and was like ‘We’d love to Skype with you’. I Skyped with them and, you know, the rest is history, of course. We then named the show Stranger Things, but Montauk was definitely the one that gave me that kind of hope of doing it all again.”
