Sources Suggest Umbrella Academy S3 Filming Starts Early Next Year

Fans of the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy have been concerned that they might not get another season of their favorite show. The streaming service hasn’t yet confirmed a third season will be coming to the platform. While The Umbrella Academy is one of the most popular shows to date, it doesn’t necessarily mean more episodes will continue to drop. This news might calm fan down though…

According to a recent report, Netflix is going ahead with another season of the show. A shooting schedule has surfaced, showing the timeline of when production for The Umbrella Academy kicks off. Production Weekly posted the schedule online, highlighting that The Umbrella Academy will begin shooting on the 1st of February 2021 for around six months. Hurray!

While fans my be sceptical, Production Weekly are a reliable source, as they track up-to-date news on films and tv shows. There has been huge worry that The Umbrella Academy would not have been renewed for a third season. Netflix has this yea had to cancel a number of popular series, with some users even claiming that they are no longer continuing their subscriptions. GLOW and I Am Not Okay With This are just a number of shows that have seen further seasons cancelled. That is even after scripts have been written. 

The Umbrella Academy follows a family of heroes who must reunite to protect the world. Starring Ellen Page, Robert Sheehan and Aidan Gallagher, fans are obsessed over the dynamic of the siblings. IMDb rates Emmy nominated show an 8.0, amazing for a series with only 20 episodes so far. And thankfully, it looks like there will be more seasons on their way. Coronavirus, please don’t ruin this for us!

If Production Weekly’s predictions are true, then it’s looking like Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy could drop early 2022. Although that feels way too long, at least it isn’t as long as other shows. Yes, Stranger Things, we are thinking of you!
