It’s hard to believe that Season 4 could be any better than previous episodes of Stranger Things, but the Netflix Original producer believes it will be! Shawn Levy has worked on the sci-fi series since it first dropped back in 2016. Fans have been disappointed that they may have to wait quite some time for a new season. But production push backs may be a secret blessing in disguise. According to Levy, the pandemic delaying filming could have made the show even better…

David Harbour recently suggested that Season 4 of Stranger Things was meant to return in spring 2021. Before millions were told to say indoors, the cat and crew began work on S4, with some of our favourites posting that they were reading the script ahead of time. Within the last month or so, filming has only just restarted. This means the next season will more than likely head to the streaming service much later next year. Yes, it’s disappointing that we won’t be seeing Eleven, Mike, Will and the gang back soon. But it isn’t all bad news…

While talking about his latest Netflix project, Dash & Lily, Shawn Levy also mentioned the future of Stranger Things.

When talking to Collider, he said this:

I’ll just say the pandemic definitely massively delayed shooting and therefore the launch of our current Season 4, date still TBD. But it impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot it and to have time to rewrite in a way that they rarely had before so the quality of these screenplays are exceptional, maybe better than ever”.

In the past it seems that the Duffer Brothers wrote the episodes during filming. But now it has given them time to finish Season 4 completely. While there is still no confirmed date for when the new episodes will air, it seems production is back on track. With a full script, and stars such as Joe Keery and Maya Hawke spotted filming for the new season, we could be getting S4 sooner than we anticipate!

A recent poll also highlighted that Netflix users believe Stranger Things is the best series on the platform! With 1000’s of votes and tough competition, the 80’s series was deemed the winner. Who can blame everyone though – we still can’t get over the shock of finding out that Hopper is actually alive! As Shawn Levy also hints, the wait might be worthwhile after all!
