A collaboration we never thought would be possible but here we are! 2020 has thrown at us everything possible, and this is one of the most bizarre things yet! WandaVision is set to drop on Disney+ in January, with episodes released every week. January is also the month Netflix says goodbye to hosting The Office. But don’t worry Office fans, WandaVision is giving a nod to our favorite mockumentary!

WandaVision is inspired by iconic sitcoms…

Filmed in front of a live audience, the Disney series takes inspiration from shows such as The Brady Bunch and Bewitched. One episode is going to focus solely on NBC’s sitcom The Office, which ran for 9 seasons. Inspired by the British version of the show, The Office US still has a cult following to this day. The documentary style comedy, starring Steve Carell and John Krasinski, brought a whole heap of new sitcoms, including Parks and Recreation and Modern Family. And it seems to show their appreciation, WandaVision is dedicating a whole episode to the comedy!

Speaking to Empire, MCU Boss Kevin Feige suggested that WandaVision will not only focus on classic sitcoms, but modern comedies. This will include a full episode paying homage to The Office, with references to Modern Family made, with the same ‘camerawork and formatting’. Feige said it will reflect “the talk-to-the-camera, shaky-camera, documentary-style”. This is totally different to anything they have ever done before, and will give producers a chance to show another side of WandaVision.

There has been a suggestion that WandaVision will pay homage to The Office by showing Wanda and Vision meeting. The pair started off as coworkers, so the inspiration taken from The Office could pay homage to them being a team before starting a romance. Awwww, it’s like Jim and Pam if they were part of the Avengers. The Office seems like a perfect pick as it was recently found that The Office is scientifically proven to be funnier than any other comedy. The Office best the likes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Friends, and The Big Bang Theory. Score!
