I’m A Celeb may have ended nearly two weeks ago now, but we can’t help talking about the show we love so much. The reality series provides us with some amazing entertainment on the run-up to Christmas, with this year’s series a little different from the rest. The 20th series filmed in Wales instead of Australia this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. And while people were skeptical, viewers couldn’t get enough. With a number of stand out stars, including Jordan North, it was a close call between the celebrities. A little too close!
The final saw Vernon Kay, Jordan North and Giovanna Fletcher go head to head to win the crown. Giovanna won the series, becoming the first Queen of the Castle. But viewers were left wondering how close the vote was, especially as Jordan was pipped as the favourite to win at the beginning of the series. And it has been revealed that there was less than 1% in the vote!
So just how close was it?
Vernon was the first to leave the Castle, with 26.5% of the vote when viewers had the choice of the three celebrities. That meant that the vote was between Giovanna Fletcher and Jordan North. The competition couldn’t have been tighter. Giovanna won with 50.27% of the vote, meaning Jordan just lost with 49.73%. We can’t believe just how close it was!
The Radio Dj proved a huge hit on this year’s series, fighting his fears including snakes and confined spaces. Giovanna also made the public swoon, providing a motherly figure for the camp, giving each celeb a shoulder to cry on. This year’s series, despite its change of location, proved to be a pretty successful year for ITV. I’m A Celebrity had the highest viewing figures of this year. An amazing achievement, especially as everyone was stuck at home in 2020! The TV show hosted over 12 million people on its final episode, as the country tuned in to see Giovanna crowned as this year’s winner. Could this be the closest final ever?!
